Can you believe it's already August?

My kids are still on summer break since our homeschool year is different, but otherwise, all is the same around here. But if someone could turn the AC on outside, that would be great.

Right now, I'm prepping for a signing TOMORROW!

“Do you want me to wake you before I go to the office tomorrow?” I ask and she pauses in the doorway.

“Please. I need to call the school, but chances are, I’ll be heading back to North Carolina.”

I open my mouth to respond but she walks out before I have a chance to say a word. I feel my stomach drop and it takes all I have not to throw my empty glass at the wall at the thought of her leaving.

I can appreciate the company of a beautiful woman without empty promises, but I’ve never considered myself to be a player. They know the score when it comes to going home with me, a night of fantastic sex, and nothing more. I’m just a man who doesn’t need, or want, the complications of having a relationship. I don’t have time for it, and the last thing I need is a stage five clinger ruining what I’ve got.

But for the first time in a long time, I question myself.

What is this girl doing to me?

Asher is hopefully coming late summer/early fall this year! Once I have a release date, y'all will be the first to know!
